Goodbye America

I've been watching with interest (and horror) the previous 5 and a half months as the viral infection known as Progressivism/Liberalism/Socialism/Marxism has come out from behind the scenes and is glorying in its heyday of approval and acceptance as a left embracing media has embraced a left embracing government and we see the results of that union. Suddenly government is taking over the nations financial centers, the automobile industry and coming soon, the medical industry. Do you want an organization that can't run, well, ANYHTING including oh, say MediCare and MedicAid which are in the same field, suddenly in charge of choosing your doctor, deciding what medication you can get, and at what age you no longer qualify for life extending medical procedures? Me neither. And with the hubris of our President, "I won the election, so the debate is over" we get both barrels as he decides what is in our best interest, and coming soon, the Seudetenland. Followed by Czechoslovakia. Doh, wrong dictator, I mean Supreme Ruler, I mean democratically elected (with a little help from ACORN- and VOTER FRAUD in at least 15 states) leader. He won't denounce Iran as they crack down on protesters (perhaps because he wants to reserve the same power should there be an election result that he disagrees with) and at the same time he immediately denounces Hondurans for throwing out their President just because he wanted to twist their Constitution so that it gave hime more power. Again, maybe because he wants to be able to reserve the same power for himself. You did REAL good America electing this guy to be your President... And we also have North Korea who is flagrantly violating international agreements it has entered into to NOT develop nuclear weapons. They are throwing it in our faces as they develop ICMS with longer and longer ranges. Then you also have the Somali pirates who we could take out in about 8 hours (that's giving the pirates a LOT of credit and saying that our own Navy SEALS are hampered with Rules of Engagement like, You need to ask them pretty please with a cherry on top to surrender BEFORE actually loading your gun and lets not even get into what it would take to actually POINT IT at somebody. (Remember the saying we do more by 9 A.M. than most people do all day?) but we tolerate and allow them to harass (mild word) commercial shipping and private yachts sailing those waters. We have become a "kinder gentler" nation (NOT superpower) that won't raise a finger to defend ourselves. Our soldiers are thrown into harms way fearing court martials if they don't read the enemy their Miranda Rights fast enough. Our nations leaders have become so open minded that their brains have fallen out. While that is unfortunately bumper stickerish, it is extremely unfortunately true. At least as far as common sense is concerned. I don't know what the solution is. Part of me wants for Al Quaida to succeed in an attack, but I'd feel too sorry for the good men and women defending them. So I'm going to hope for the impossible, and that the American people rise up and demand that their representatives REPRESENT them, instead of looking after their own self interest and Party politics and special interests with their campaign donations. That the Constituion is re-enshrined as the guiding voice of how our Republic can best be served. Yeah, its going to be a cold, cold day when that happens. So America, it was fun while it lasted. 233 years isn't bad.

The Coming Battle of Gun Control

Here is a little "gem" that I found in my inbox this morning. While I have yet to "verify" it, it feels real. I know that feelings are like hemhorroids and most people have them at some point, er, I mean.... :) But back to the gun control issue, read on and see what you think. (Okay verified it through snopes.com and they verified it, but you could tell the political ideology of the verifier. :)

"Australian Gun Law Update Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts. From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the now available datafrom Down Under. It has now been one year (12 months) since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than$500 million dollars. The first year results are now available: Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent; Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent); In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent as compared with the last one year period when private ownership of a firearm was legal. (NB: the law-abiding citizens did turn in their personal firearms, the criminal element did not and thus criminals in Australia still possess their guns.) While data for the 25 years preceding the confiscation of privately owned guns showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months as criminals now are assured their victims will be unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults ofthe elderly, while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns.' This story of well intentioned government intervention in the rights of lawful individuals to own and possess firearms won't be seen in the mainstream US media or on the American evening news. Senator Obama who advocates a similar confiscation in the US will not be reporting any of this to you. But, the Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Americans may want to take note before it's too late!"

So, here we are in America with the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. There could (and probably will) be with a Democratic controlled House, Senate and White House, a major assault on firearms in the US in the next few years (as of right now make it a matter of days!). To make this issue a little more "real" let me share a little background. For 3 years I was called out to assist funeral homes bring deceased people from where they had passed away back to the funeral homes. During that time I collected approximately 15-18 homicide victims. I learned a simple, plain, obvious truth. When someone is MURDERED the police ALWAYS show up AFTER the fact. All too rarely are they there when they are needed. If these victims had possessed a weapon to defend themselves, who knows if they would have needed my services? If someone is seriously interested in protecting themselves and by extension their family, friends, and society as a whole, then to truly be able to do that requires the responsibility of responsible gun ownership. Of being legally able to carry a concealed weapon with them as they live and work in society so that heaven forbid they are suddenly thrust into their worst nightmare, then they have the means to survive and live to see their loved ones again. Firearms are as much an insurance policy as an insurance policy. I can honestly say that I hope to never have to use my weapons to defend myself or someone else, but if the day comes that I need to, then I will be very glad that I have them and can defend myself and others. When that moment comes you can't say "If only..." it doesn't work like that. You either have, and are prepared, or you have not, and it really sucks to be you.

Don't let the government take away our ability not only to defend ourselves, but also our "power." Every subjugated people on the planet in history has lost, or never had, the ability to keep and bear arms like the Constitution grants us. The day we lose that right, we lose a great deal of our freedom, arguably the greatest. It must be in the back of every politicians mind that millions of gun wielding Americans ultimately can choose to kick them out and start over if they mess around with our country too much. And as corny as it sounds, should America ever be "invaded" a la Red Dawn, or riots like after Hurricane Katrina (much more likely and chaotic) we would be able to ensure that we could look after and protect our families.

I don't know who said it first, but remember possibly the 5 greatest words in the English language, "From my cold dead hands."

Rants

At last! I have a "voice" to express some of my concerns and frustrations with some of the goings on in the world. Several years ago I "discovered" talk radio and "awakened" politically. Not in a draft dodging, pot smoking way either. Just realizing that there are two sides out there, the Right (Conservatives) and the Wrong (Liberals). As you can PROBABLY guess, I am a dyed in the wool conservative. Reagan is my favorite President, followed closely by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. I like Presidents who understood that it is a blessing to be an American, that the Constitution says what it means, that the Founding Fathers meant for us to be able to define our own destiny and not have to rely on the good graces of a nanny state.

The problem with our political system today is that quite frankly it's broken. You have the Demicans and the Republocrats. Kind of a Coke and Pepsi thing going on. It should be Coke and Mountain Dew. Either way you are getting a cola. Sure the taste is a little different, but the brand is pretty much the only difference. Same with modern day politics. You have a political machine that is intent and working ultimately only to one thing, retaining power and obtaining more of the same, that aside from reelection they are working on one thing, raising money and making promises to donors. They are the new Nobility, who see themselves as "special" and above the common man even though they are "Servants of the people." There are elements of the Left who may (and lets face it, probably do) have a socialist/communist agenda, while the Right is standing there wringing their hands and trying to figure out how to be slightly less Liberal than the Liberals, and worrying about being chivalrous and not stepping on anybodies toes and offending anyone, and failing miserably. The problem is that the Left has an agenda and is actively working at promoting it, while the Right is too busy reacting to promote an agenda of their own. Lets face it, at times the boat needs to be rocked. And now more than ever, that rocking needs to occur. We need to let people know that the great ship AMERICA is sinking while heading out of control towards a rocky treachorous shoreline at breakneck speeds. We are floundering in a sea of political correctness, and because of that it is suddenly unpopular to be patriotic, to believe in God, to believe in personal responsibility and accountability, to hold people accountable for their choices and for declaring certain lifestyles to be unnatural.

What we need is a 3rd party. A Conservative party. THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY. The Republican party has sold its soul as far as I can tell. They have lost their conservative way. They have boughten into the false philosophy that centrism, appealing to the "independents" and the wishy washy democrats to win elections, while ignoring the party base. The Christian, family values loving, gun owning, flag waving, parade attending Americans who believe in being fiscally responsible, having a strong military to help promote the peace, immigration control, prison reform- as in making prisons hell on earth where people are deterred from committing crimes so they don't end up there. And if people do choose to commit heinous crimes, then they can expect to be executed promptly. We can slash our social services for people that either have no claim on them, or for those who have adopted them as a way of life, rather than as a temporary measure. They are not intended to be a couch, but a trampoline. We also need the institution of a national ID card for travel/ID/and possibly most importantly, voting/voter registration. It would eliminate voter fraud which is becoming particularly epidemic. Ask Washingtonians, where the Republican and Democrat candidates for Governor essentially tied, and when a recount was conducted, miraculously hundreds of ballots started turning up for the Democrat. (Funny isn't it how they ALWAYS turn up for the Democrat.... I'll let you draw your own conclusions.) Also in Minnesota where Al Franken is experiencing the same sort of Democrat "luck" as in the recount he is obtaining the vast majority of "found" ballots.

I needed to get that out. It was cathartic. Anyway, I am now OPEN for business. Check back as I talk more about our Country, politics, religion, guns, movies, the weather, etc.
